Crab Park is one of those Vancouver places that feels hidden despite sitting right beside downtown: a beach, a pier, skyline views and Gastown only a short walk away. I visited on June 16, 2016 at around 7:30pm, with the sun low in the sky. From the pier, the downtown buildings appear unusually close, with Canada Place and the Harbour Centre tower visible across the water. The graffiti on the dock was what made the scene for me. It puts a rough, human foreground against Vancouver’s polished glass skyline.
